Rogue One: X-Wing VR Mission

Criterion Games

Rogue One: X-Wing VR Mission is a virtual reality space combat game released in 2016 by Criterion Games in Guildford, UK. Despite being an add-on to Star Wars: Battlefront II, it was developed separately by a dedicated team.

I was brought on board to spearhead the story and narrative design, including incorporating the events of the game into the timeline of the Rogue One feature film. In addition to writing and design, this involved conceiving original characters cleared by Lucasfilm as well as generating new material for K-2SO, the Rogue One droid character performed by Alan Tudyk.

The success of this project (Trusted Reviews called it “the best VR game I’ve ever played” and Metro.co.uk deemed it “the best thing so far on PlayStation VR) led to my ongoing professional relationship with Criterion Games, including early creative development on multiple unannounced titles.
